Garages weren’t a typical part of home construction until the 1930s, when semi-detached houses began to be built. Unlike the Victorian terraces, these homes had more space around them, allowing for garages to be built, in line with the growing craze for motor cars.
We can design garage doors to suit houses of all time periods – including mews houses, where the entrances would once have been designed to admit horses and carriages. If you would like a garage door to be designed to remain in keeping with your front door, we can achieve this. We make tongue-and-grooved or panelled garage doors, and these can be made either in pairs or as an electrically operated up-and-over door.
